Case Study: Fabric canopies provides adaptability to weather conditions
The Project: Rebuild St. Louis, MO restaurant after devastating fire, provide year-round weather protection that easily retracts in pleasant weather.
The Copia Urban Winery restaurant is bordered on both sides by tall downtown buildings. The owners sought a canopy to provide year-round weather protection for their guests in a garden style outdoor patio seating area, yet retract in pleasant weather, maximizing open air.
The Solution: A versatile, one-of-a-kind retractable canopy that easily and quickly adapts to weather conditions.
The canopy design consists of three large, electrically-operated canopies that operate independently. The first two sections retract under the third section and the open or closing transformation takes less than 60 seconds. Each side of every canopy includes a gutter system and the canopies each can handle heavy snow loads and 90 mph winds.
